January 13, 2012

Our guest speaker at Friday's meeting was Shannon Gunier of the Lake County Winegrape Commission.  Shannon spoke to us about Lake County's wine industry and it's growth in the California wine community.

 

 

December 30, 2011

Our guest speaker was Wilda Shock, a fifth generation Lake Couny resident and a member of the Lake County Friends of Mendocino College.  Wilda brought us up to date on the construction of the new Lakeport campus and the college's vision for the future.

 

The Mendocino College Lake Center's official groundbreaking ceremony took place on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at the 31-acre campus, located at 2565 Parallel Drive, Lakeport, California.

January 6, 2012 

Barbara McIntyre, Taylor Observatory Coordinator, was our guest speaker.  Barbara talked about the new projector and how much difference it has made in the quality of the recent Christmas planetarium presentations.  She also talked about a grand from PG&E that will enable the Observatory to purchase and install nine solar panels.
