Objective:  To help senior people at the Asilo de Anncianos de Manzanillo.  They were in great need of the items we bought to make life better for them.

  1. The new appliances will help store food to last many days instead of 1 day.
  2. The new wash machines help the workers do the wash faster.
  3. The new computer will help with keeping tract of the senior people, med's and all records.
  4.  The blood pressure and sugar test equipment will help the doctor.
  5. The 42" TV will be a good entertainment for all of the senior center people.
  6. All the hugs we got were heart warming.
  7.

When and Where did the project take place:  March thru April 2009 at Asilo de Amcianos de Manzanillo, Manzanillo, Mexico.

Scope change:  Extra pesos helped us with a computer and extra dining chairs.

How did Rotarians manage and oversee the project:  We were there for all appliance deliveries and all other items we delivered and installed -- shower heads, 2 new ceiling fans, paint and tile.  Moved all appliances to the area where they would be used.  Set new computer up with all the programs they wanted.

In what way did the International Rotarians participate in the project:  The Rotary members from Kelseyville Sunrise District 5130 toured the Senior Center in the Fall of 2008.  They helped to put this Grant together.  They could see the problems at the center and what the people needed.

  How many people benefited:  40

What was the impact of the project on the beneficiaries:  All the people at the Senior Center were very happy with the rocking chairs, shower chairs, new shower heads, TV and all other items.

Expected long term community impacts of the project:  All items are expected to last 10 years.
