Interact

Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 14 to 18.  Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting.

Leticia Covarrubias, Interact member, talked about the Interact Teachers luncheon that they put on for the teachers at Kelseyville High School this past week.

Kelseyville High School Interact Club is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kelseyville Sunrise and actively participates in volunteering and fundraising in our community.  The Club consists of high school students between the ages of 14 and 18.  During the 2008-2009 school year the Club has participated in the following events:

  • “Walk for Diabetes” in the Napa Valley;

  • Purchased holiday gifts for children in foster care through the Umpqua Bank “Christmas Giving Tree;

  • Participates monthly with Kelseyville Rotarians in the Kelseyville Elementary School Reading Program;

  • Major fund raiser is selling raffle tickets for “Half a Hog.”
Each year several Interact students attend District 5130 Leadership weekend in Occidental.  The weekend consists of presentations by motivational speakers together with meeting and getting to know other Interact students throughout the District.  Each Club gives a presentation on their previous year’s activities as well as an original skit (usually quite humorous).
